JBoss RAM requirements
From Oxxus Wiki
Before proceeding with installation of JBoss on your VPS please verify that you meet the following RAM requirements.
- JBoss 4.2.4
- This version of JBoss is light on RAM requirements and default empty start-up consumes about 270 MB of RAM memory. This allows you to install it on a VPS starting with Starter VPS plan.
- JBoss 5.0, 5.1 and 6.0
- Later versions of JBoss consume considerable amounts of memory, starting with 5.0 default start-ip requires about 500 MB of RAM memory. This means that you will need Developer VPS at minimum to run these versions of JBoss successfully.
Notes
VPS containers do not use swap memory. All applications you run are located in the memory assigned to your VPS. You will need to consider this limitation when choosing the appropriate plan for your application.
